Advice if you are worried about your child or have safeguarding concerns

  • Updated: 24 September 2024
Fairburn C P School is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all children in school. All North Yorkshire schools, including Fairburn School, follow the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Board procedures.

The school will, in most circumstances, endeavour to discuss all concerns with parents about their child/ren. However, there may be exceptional circumstances when the school will discuss concerns with Social Care and/or the Police without parental knowledge (in accordance with Child Protection procedures). The school will, of course, always aim to maintain a positive relationship with all parents. The school’s child protection policy is available publicly on the school website.

Please come and talk about any safeguarding concerns that you may have.

The designated lead person for Safeguarding is Emma Cornhill and the deputy lead is Sophie Dent. You can chat with us directly or alternatively make an appointment through Mrs McCrory in the school office on 01977 672158.

North Yorkshire has set up a website with information for Parents called Be aware’ which deals with information about Child Exploitation. Here is the link.
