Welcome to Fairburn Community Primary School’s website. My name is Emma Cornhill and I have been the Head Teacher here since 2007.
The vision which completely underpins our school is the sole aim that we want all children to receive the highest standard of education possible but that they will enjoy our school and feel happy here in a caring, safe environment.
I am fortunate that I love the job I do and I am supported by an extremely dedicated staff team and Governing Body who are equally as passionate as me to continually strive to further improve our school.
Many people comment on how evident our strong team ethos is as we collectively provide a curriculum that is both relevant and personalised to the children and families we work alongside.
We want our children to learn skills they can use in their whole life such as co-operation, tolerance, good manners and an ability to handle themselves confidently in a variety of situations.
We provide a rich variety of experiences because we want every child to discover their unique skill. The children choose their own curriculum and have a strong pupil voice.
I believe passionately in the role of village schools within the local community so we take all opportunities for the children to be involved as much as possible in events such as Harvest Festival in the Church, singing to the third generation and Remembrance Services. I also want the children to learn about how to care for their village and to both understand its heritage and why a sense of community is so important. As a result we have strong links with the Church, Parish Council and the Community Centre.
The different areas of the website will hopefully answer any further questions you may have.
If not, please do not hesitate to ring and book an appointment to come and meet us.Emma Cornhill, Headteacher
