How to apply for a place in our school
Our school seeks to serve its children and the local community. Priority is given to children who live within the village boundary of Fairburn. Children from other, local areas are most welcome if places are available.
Parents need to enrol their child to start at school in the September following their fourth birthday. However, parents may choose to defer their start date after a place is allocated until the child reaches compulsory school age of 5. Similarly, children may attend school part time until they reach 5. Here at Fairburn, we request that all children are part time for the first two weeks of school in September.
Key dates for the 2024 – 25 academic year are:
- 15th January 2024 – Closing date for applications.
- National Offer Day- 16th April 2024
Please note that in line with NYCC procedures forms received after the above closing dates, without a reason that is acceptable to us, will be considered as a late application and will therefore be processed after we have considered all other applications.
An application we receive by the deadline date for a child living outside of normal area of the school, will have priority over a late application for a child living within the normal area of the school. We may still be able to offer your child a place at your preferred school if there are places available.
