Cookie Notice
What is a Cookie?
A “cookie” is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are then are sent back to the originating site on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes that cookie. Cookies are useful because they enable us to serve our site visitors well by letting you navigate between pages efficiently, using anonymous ‘Session cookies’.
Session cookies
Our web application platform, Craft, relies on PHP sessions to maintain sessions across web requests. That is done via the PHP session cookie. Craft names that cookie “CraftSessionId”. This cookie will expire as soon as the session expires.
A browsing session typically ends when you close the browser window, but this behavior may vary depending on which browser and your browser preferences. In Chrome, for example, the “Continue where you left off” option for the “On startup” setting will prevent session cookies from being deleted, thereby extending your sessions indefinitely.
Cookies and GDPR
For GDPR purposes, please note that Craft’s default cookies do not collect any personal or sensitive information, they do not collect IP addresses and the information they store is not sent to Pixel & Tonic, or any third parties. These cookies are only used for form validation/security, and basic web application operations.
How to Control and Delete Cookies
The cookies used on our website can be disabled by disabling the cookies through your browser. To disable cookies through your browser, follow the instructions usually located within the “Help,” “Tools” or “Edit” menus in your browser. Please note that disabling a cookie or category of cookies does not delete an existing cookie from your browser unless you delete it manually through your browser function.
